All over the world, hundreds of thousands choose to volunteer and help others, putting into practice the simple idea that every single person can do something good, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively change the world. Join our community for a month full of events for the whole family that make Greater Portland a better place!

Puzzles, crafts, and cards for JFCS

JFCS is asking for puzzles, crafts, and cards to gift to their disability services clients. Items should be new or gently used. As community engagement activities lessened due to the pandemic, these individuals can be experiencing isolation. By gifting them creative activities they will be reminded that the community is thinking of them and sending joy. Drive/Collection with Covid-safe, in person drop off at Neveh Shalom 24/7 from April 20th-April 30th.

PJ Library Cards for Seniors

The creatives among the young and young at heart are invited to make cards for our community’s seniors, many of whom have been isolated from family & friends for the past year in the pandemic. Our Community Chaplain will distribute these cards as he visits those living in assisted living and other senior care facilities.

Dignity Grows™ provides monthly personal and menstrual hygiene products to women, girls and individuals assigned female at birth, who cannot afford them. In March of 2021, Women's Philanthropy of Greater Portland became the 15th chapter of Dignity Grows in the collective of 147 Jewish Federations.
