The only Jewish museum in the Pacific Northwest, the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education is dedicated to the preservation, research and exhibition of art, archival materials and artifacts of the Jewish people, especially pertaining to their history and presence in Oregon.

The museum hosts a wide variety of changing exhibits, and all visitors are welcome.  Please call or visit our web site for current exhibit information, hours, and rates. OJM maintains historical archives and a collection of photographs, oral histories, documents, and artifacts that are available to researchers for study upon request.  Steven Lowenstein’s The Jews of Oregon, 1850-1950, documents the history of Oregon’s Jewish community and can be purchased from the museum.

As of July 2014, OJM is also home of Holocaust education in Oregon as a result of its merger with the Oregon Holocaust Resouce Center. The merger of OJM with OHRC offers the opportunity to promote the responsible teaching of the Holocaust through education programs and exhibits, as well as the opportunity to stimulate dialogue and action that teaches new generations the need to uphold democratic values, prevent genocide and foster human dignity. OJM is dedicated to communicating the lessons of the Holocaust to teachers, students, and the general public in Oregon and SW Washington. This is in fulfillment of the legacy left by victims to survivors.
